Frontline Allies: TGX+ Children and Youth Support Skills (Series)

This interactive workshop series is offered on two successive Tuesdays, and it is aimed at helping participants learn how to create safe and welcoming spaces for transgender and nonbinary youth. The series is offered by Collaborate PASadena, with a goal of making a real difference in the lives of transgender and nonbinary youth. It will equip community leaders and staff with the knowledge and tools needed to create truly inclusive environments.

Summit 2024: Strategies for Unhoused Youth

Coordinated by The Village Family Services, Summit 2024: Strategies for Unhouse Youth is a community training event focused on effective, age-appropriate strategies to address youth homelessness. The Summit’s goal is to share what The Village Family Services and other leading service providers have learned about these strategies, and to engage in a dynamic discussion with youth and other stakeholders on the actions needed to achieve systematic change. The audience will include approximately 200 government officials, key agency leaders, public sector and nonprofit service providers, youth council members, peer counselors, students, and funders. Admission to this event includes lunch, refreshments and snacks throughout the event. Group ticket sales of 10 or more are available at a discounted rate. Completing the FAFSA/CADAA: A How-To for Adult Supporters of Youth with Experience with Foster Care or Homelessness

John Burton Advocates for Youth (JBAY) is presenting this “how-to” webinar to assist adult supporters working with foster youth and unaccompanied homeless youth to successfully complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA). The webinar will review the FAFSA and CADAA, page by page, including detailed instructions on how eligible students can qualify as independent students for the purposes of maximizing financial aid. Presenters will also provide information on key steps to take after the FAFSA or CADAA is completed, such as creating a WebGrants account.
